Madam Inderjit Kaur Sandhu is an icon of Punjabi intellect and culture in every sense of the term. While for the university administration, such a sympathetic and competent Vice-Chancellor was an unexpected boon, what mattered most personally for me was her extremely encouraging engagement in the development of Punjabi language, literature, art and culture.

I can still clearly remember Inderjitji. She taught us philosophy. She had a very pleasant personality and a soothing, gentle voice, and was very patient with those slow to understand. Her devotion to learning led her on a long and fruitful academic journey, as her many works and achievements show.
